The blue mountain at the centre of the image has been made using acrylic ink applied with a dip pen. The rest of the image is acrylic paint, partly applied in more abstract gestures with layers of glaze for depth, contrasting with the hills formed from small triangles.
The title of this piece comes from the poem Night Sea Journey, by Don Domanski, particularly its exploration of landscape and unseen dimensions of experience.
(Excerpt)
I do not expect to understandbut to call from land
from their bruise-coloured beach
a few words they might
take with them to that far shore
of bones and stars
of miracles and bliss.
This piece is sold unframed and will need to be framed behind glass (non-reflective recommended) in order to be displayed.
