The pastel is first crumbled onto the paper in small amounts, then smoothed across the surface by hand. The mountain areas are made using a dip pen with fine nib, or mechanical pencil.
The silent knowing relates to an experience of longing for that which seems unnameable. To long for something in this way means that what is absent must already be known to us. One way to think about this might be regarding Nature's forms as an expression of something beyond the visible, at the edge of our senses.
This piece is sold unframed and will need to be framed with a mount, behind glass (non-reflective recommended) in order to be displayed.
If you have any questions about the work or framing, you are welcome to get in touch.
