Therapy Options

When it comes to how long we work together for, the decision is yours. Although the intention is that the sessions are useful to you from the start, this form of psychotherapy is focussed towards creating lasting healing and change, which is a process that occurs over time.

Open-ended therapy: Exploration in greater depth, over a longer period of time. We reflect upon our work together as we go along, and keep an eye on when the right time to conclude therapy might be.
Short-term therapy: This may suit those looking for focused, time-limited support of between 6 & 12 sessions.

Alternative Option - Monthly meetings
1.5 hours - £75

For those who do not need the frequency of regular psychotherapy sessions, I can offer ongoing monthly meetings to 'check in', explore your own creative path, give attention to dreams, or other related areas. This can be a particularly useful option for those who would like to work together in person, but live further afield. It is essential that you are willing to use art materials for a significant portion of these sessions. We would first meet for an initial consultation before deciding upon regular meetings.

Beginning therapy

Our first meeting — the initial consultation — is held either in person, or online, depending on which format your therapy is to be in. This will take the form of a conversation, and is an opportunity to find out if we will be well suited for working together. Some of the areas we will give some thought to include;

-
What are the main themes, concerns, problems that you would like to explore and address?
-
Your ideas about what therapy will be like, and your hopes and expectations for how it will help you.
-
Why now? What is significant for you about the timing of beginning therapy?

If we are both agreed that continuing therapy could be beneficial for you, we can plan for further appointments, but there will be no pressure to do so.

Following the initial appointment I suggest committing to 3 sessions to get a sense for what it is like, and how you find the weekly rhythm of the sessions in your life, before deciding whether or not to continue beyond that.
